Get it Heinlein! Mine is made by Rajkumar. This one appears both longer and lighter so it should have a thinner profile than mine.

There's alot more color to that horn than pictures betray. You might have some nice fine contrast grains in there...

Yeah; I almost mentioned that pics don't usually do a horn handle justice. Yours even looks good in pictures.

Besides expected variation in hand-made blades, looks like small variations in handles too, comparing the one here to the one I just received (DOTD 9/22). I'm looking forward to putting this to use this weekend, but can say now that it feels great in the hand: comfortable handle (I'll have to see how much it wants to slide out when in use) and balance. Not too heavy, but enough.

All three of my HI knives have the perfect ergonomics that can only come from a hand crafted blade. That horn has just enough texture to it to make it really stick in your hand-I noticed no issues whatsoever when wailing on mine yesterday. My sweet spot is pretty small, but once I got the hang of it, it was a devistating chopper. I drawknifed with it as well, which, for a thick blade, it accomplished well. There are slight variations to the blade, for sure-I was looking for the clip point to be aimed more forward for practical tip use than swept up, but the upward sweep does give the blade more belly for slicing green brush and a deeper biting sweetspot. I like the heft, adds to the overall feel of indestructability, which the blade surely is.
