I posted a brand new knife a little while ago, a 22" Bhaktapure ceremonial Khukuri.
I am most interested in your opinions of it.
One of my Kami's, Get, thought this knife would be a nice addition
to the HI product line, so he made one copy and sent it to me. If
you like it, he will make some more for you forumites.
The people of Bhaktapur use this particular Khukuri for specific
ceremonies during Dashain and Tihar. It is used by the Hindus of
Nepal to sacrifice buffalo, chickens and goats.
Look it over and let me know if you think it would be a
good addition to HI's product list and to your collections.

Well, to telly ou the truth I was just thinking about this blade.

It has a very interesting line to it.
I was thinking that the forward section seems longer and more sweeping, designed to cut flesh more than being very weight-forward to cut wood.

I was thinking of it being more of a fighting design, yet a bit heavy for that.

Now that you mention sacrificing buffalo with it, it makes perfect sense.

If I had the money, I would have emailed you about it already.

I really need to get back to work. . .

Dear Yangdu,

I've found Khuk's over 32ounces just to heavy for repetitious usage but I'm getting old and feeble. :(

That said, I'm sure younger and fitter users may find it an alternative to a 20inch C.A.K. or Ganga Ram.

As a collector of HI blades, I would be happy to purchase one when more immediate desires are fulfilled.

Does this model have any kind of distal taper? Fullers? Either one might solve the weight problem. A model that long definitely has its uses, and I wonder how much either fullers or a distal taper would affect the natural khukuri dynamics.

Just a thought.

Wow! I've been out of the khuk game (using of course, just not buying) for a while, but that is one I would would like to add to my collection in the near future.

Yangdu I really like the looks of this khukuri and I do believe it would be a good addition to the H.I. Lineup if a person could get it in at least 2 sizes and 3 would be better.
Keep the original size as it is for those folks who would desire a *"Real Ceremonial Khukuri,"* Have *both an 18" and a 15" model*for those of us who prefer a more user friendly khukuri.

I would dearly love one of these in an 18" size with a standard full hidden tang but even if I had one all I would be able to do with it would be too admire it because of the shape I'm in but that still doesn't stop the desire of wanting one. ;) :D

.

"Friendly" and "khukuri" don't quite go together, IMO. But it's a perfectly nice piece, and the idea of an authentic, non-tourist ceremonial khuk is a very sound one. (Call that a "Yes" vote.)

Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions on Get' Kamis Ceremonial Khukuri
