Monday Monday, can't trust that day,
Monday Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be
Oh Monday Monday, how could you leave and not take me.

-Mamas and the Papas

Sheesh! Monday here again!

Still no knifework being accomplished in the Higgins Shop. THAT's nothing new, eh? :p

I spent Saturday working here on a press. Lots of bearing work. Lots of bad shafts. Sometimes a shaft wears out inside the inner bearing race. The bearing will seize and the shaft keeps turning inside the race. This wears down the shaft. I'll remove the shaft. Weld up the bad spot. Chuck it up in the lathe and turn it down back to specs again. Time-consuming, but beats buying a new shaft, especially if the machine is obsolete, i.e. no parts available.

But alas, I'm here again and it's MONDAY AGAIN! WOOHOO!!

What are you guys up to this week? :D

Still doing some finish work on the little shop #2, run errands, then go to work. I work on shop as my ol' sore back permits, such as the outside painting, etc. Yesterday, I went out and shot some squirrel for IG. Head shot, IG, so they are not tore up. Y'all can call me "SNIPER" on weekends, because I'm going to be out there in the woods at least one day of my weekends.

John you should take a ride here. I have a butter nut tree in my yard and a ton of tree rats. The dogs just can't catch them.

did a lot of sanding. Took the shop dog to "become a man" but the other dog wasn't quite in heat yet. Lil' bastard is heartbroken or something, he's been whining, moaning, and I haven't slept much at all since.

I checked my deer cams yesterday and didn't have any pictures John. The Deer are changing their routes and I did a little scouting. Someone had put out a dozen salt blocks and scattered deer cocaine ever where.

I might have to hunt squirrels all season cause I sure can't hunt over that stuff. :grumpy:

I should be on my way to a concrete speciality shop to get the hardware I need to button up the retaining wall form for my shop addition. Hope to pour it in a day or two. I'd better get going.

That's easily remedied, Mike. Hand him a Hustler magazine and a box of kleenex.

Higgy, I had no idea you sing so well. brings tear to my eye.

Sniff, Honk, Burp, Farttttt.

I'm finishing two more knives for a show this weekend. Attaching handles and making sheathes. These are the last two knives made from my 2x48 grinder. I'm in the process of grinding six hunters on the KMG. Boy what a difference in the grind! So much nicer. I'm doing them with 5160. D2 is still my main steel, but I do like 5160 alot. There're calling for temps in the 60's, daytime and upper 40's at nite on Wed. and Thurs. The deer woods is calling me :D Don't know how much longer I can hold out :)

George,If you want to get rid of those "tree rats" just get yourself one of those mail order preachers certificates.Declare your home a church (great tax benefits) and go out and baptize all those little critters. After making the members of your church you will only see them once or twice a year!
