Monday Night Mini Spear Vala Auction and barn dance.

Ok, there really ain't no barn dance but wanted to get your attention. It's snowing again around these parts so I had a little time to doll up another Mini Spear Vala.

This one I inlaid a chunk of stabilized Buckeye Burl, pretty stuff. It turned out classy and subtle, not flashy.
I checkered over the whole shebang and rounded off the end a bit so it isn't so square.
Nice grip texture but I left the diamonds a bit flat so it wouldn't hang up on clothing or be too sharp on the hand.

This one is 8 3/4" long and weighs in 4.2 ounces. I neglected to photograph the sheath but it's red with a black strap. Very nice.






Lets start off at 40 smackeroos, that's 40 American for those unfamiliar with the denomination.

We'll run until noon on Sunday. All bids posted here.

All proceeds to Yangdu to apply at her discretion, I'll cover the shipping.

I have a Micro Cherokee Rose and a Kumar Karda in the think tank that I'll post up some time the hopefully near future.

Bawanna, I just don't see how you can chequer so evenly. I'd botch it for sure.
 
I seriously doubt it. A bit of practicing and you'd put me to shame. I can feel it in my cells.

Took me awhile to get the hang of it, spent all the hanging around time after I got hurt teaching myself.

I remember I used to checker with the nekkid eye, and I'd go 20 hours at a time and think nothing.

Now it's glass's and an opti visor and 3 or 4 hours at a stretch is about max without unwinding my neck and back.

I enjoy doing it though. Like everything else now days it's all machine and not many doing it by hand.

In case everyone hasn't already seen what a Kumar-Bawanna-Pugs rig looks like, here's an example:

The sheath is actually black but the way it catches the light in this photo, it looks dark brown. Nice.
 
High noon Sunday is rapidly approaching.

I'll have another knife to offer up at or about noon. Turned out purty nice.

Actually had two but # 2 needs something. Not sure what yet, not blowing my dress up but it ain't over yet.
 
This auction makes me sad. Normally these things are a lot more fun, when other people, y'know, participate.

It's been a tough week with the loss of BB and Yangdu put up some pretty sweet knives this week.
Money only goes so far.

You sure don't need to bid against yourself. Don't never be sad, its doesn't do anybody any good.
Happy, glad, disappointed, ticked off are all acceptable but never sad.

60 is enough and slightly more than they have sold for so we're ok.

Now if someone comes along and ups the auntie (no pun intended, well maybe a little) then its a different story.
 
T-rav, if you send me an address (PM in case your on the witness protection program) I'll get this thing headed your way. If you insist on sticking to the 130, I'll send it to Pugs for a sheath.

T-rav22, Yangdu advised you stuck with your high bid. Sooo, I'm sending it off to Pugs for a nice sheath as soon as I can.
He will need your address to send it to when his work is done.
