I love Mondays. I get to come back to work and pick up where I left off last week: Fixing broke-dick hunks of printing junk. Oh! I am SOOOO HAPPPY!

I aint even finished my coffee, and I got grease up to my armpits. Freedom is going to feel so sweet.

Yesterday I set to work on a new fixed-blade. This time with some IG cannister-damascus. That stuff is hella-tough right now. Dang it, I got to normalize and anneal it tonight just to work it better. One thing for sure: That steel is going to make a knife blade "par-excellence."

How you fellas holding up this morning? :D

I would rather eat the Southbound end of a rotten menstruating skunk than be here right now :) STINKY ANTLER DUST!!!

Just get home from a 10 hour shift. It might be a 7 day work week for me. I hope not but the OT would come in handy. Guys on sick leave and vacation are making it tough at work. Seems nobody wants to do manual labor anymore. If someones out, there's no replacement. I do hope to work on knives this week. Picked up two more orders over the phone last Friday. A fellow needs hunting knives for a spring bear hunt. One for him and his buddy. Ahhh, that's right up my alley. :D Love making fixed blade hunters. :)

I hate Mondays. I especially hate this one.

Got a call last night and my Mother is in the Hospital.

I have a ton of stuff to have picked up.

I have a lawyer that rented a high end LCD for a trial. I gave him a great package price for the duration of the trial. He settled halfway through and wants to know if he gets a refund. (Lotsa Luck !) :grumpy:

I'm up to my ears in paperwork and I really hate paperwork.

I want to go hunting (Lotsa Luck !)

I have to prepare a powerpoint presentation for a group that rented equipment and then realized they didn't know how to use Powerpoint. :grumpy:

I have a Bowie to finish and decide if I will sell that one.

I'm setting up a new Corporation and have to finish the charter for that :grumpy: :grumpy:

I'm tired as He!! and it ain't 9:00 yet :grumpy: :grumpy:

Yep.....nothing like being an independent businessman :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

Higgy: Did you get my email and understand it?????
I had the re-anneal the last billet I work on. From now on I am putting a link of heated anchor chain in on top of the ash and sand when annealling.

Jeff,

Three more years for me to retirement. If I let myself think about it too much I go nuts! I know three years will fly by and I'm full of plans. it's something, isn't it, wishing myself older? Weird! But, Finally, freedom is almost at hand.

I'm going to use my Paragon and do the method Kevin Cashen described (on knivesby.com). I at least have to get it soft enough to stamp my name in it!

Good talking to you just now btw, IG. :D

Man, you ARE grumpy today, Don! Hey brother... My prayers are with your momma. Anything real serious?

Thanks Jeff. She had a stroke. It doesn't appear to be bad, but I'm old so obviously she has a few years on me. At that age, anything is bad.

I just got off work this morning at 10 am, i work 24 hr shifts so i guess for me everyday is kinda like friday. Got my little girl here so limited shop time today. But i did get a knife hand rubbed at work last night. which im free to do as long as nothing burns down, then i gotta go put it out..but other than that its a sweet deal for knife, and especially sheathmaking.

Prayers for you mom on the way up Don, i hope it all turns out ok..keep the faith brother..

Like my old foreman used to tell me.

"Don't like your job? QUIT!""

Damn good advice, I'm glad I followed it. :D :D :D

Prayers for your mom Don, hope she comes out alright.

I really hate Mondays. I did homework this morning before going to my one class that I struggled to stay awake for, they didn't collect the homework, and I came back home wishing I hadn't gone at all
The real bitch this quarter is that today being monday means tommorrow is tuesday. Tuesdays I have classes from 8:30-10:00, 10:00-11:18 (they're about a mile apart too, I'm either leaving early or getting there late every time) 12:00-12:48 (back to the first building) and then 1:00-3:00. 7 hours straight of sitting in class or walking to class and nothing else :grumpy: Then I get to repeat the whole damn thing on thursday.

Hope everything turns out okay for your mom Don. Good luck with the face cut too (I just read that one.)

Mondays suck shop vacs. :grumpy:

I always thought that monday was the best day of the week. 'Cause you've got 7 days till the next one. on friday you only have 3 days till monday. :D

Sorry, but THAT's hilarious, lol!!
Why the hell would anyone rent equipment/software they can't operate? Talk about dumb and dumber. When are they going Chapter 11?

Monday: no all that bad.
Didn't sleep all night (nothing unusual Sunday nights).
Half the office is out with the flu or on vacation. Mice all over the place.
Spent half the day approving shop drawings for over 300 doors and the other half drawing on the computer. Did a 10 hour day (nic lunch), almost an average day - not too bad, at least there's OT pay.
There is something to be said about getting into the office before everyone else does: nice and quiet and no phones ringing.

I'm glad Monday is over but this is a seven day - no, make that 12 day - stretch. Then we're going to Yucatan for almost two weeks. I can take it. Had a meeting with the president of the company Monday that went well, thank heaven. That man is scary sharp, has a deceptively quiet voice and calm manner. It's over now though. Whew.

Downside of all this work and vacation is three weekends with no shop time. I'm going to be nuts by the time I get back in there!

Don, prayers on the way for your mother. I had to laugh at the dumbspits who rented the computer and couldn't use Powerpoint! Who the hell can't run Powerpoint? I know, govt types.

Well, nine years and counting to retirement...
