Mark Williams is in charge of Fridays. I don't see anything wrong with taking on a Monday here or there. Whatcha-y'all doin' this week? Me? I'm sore as hell from an all-out effort to install a huge triple window in the dining room. two of us could barely lift it up to the sill. I feel like I got runned over by a stampeding herd of gophers. I'll be taking it easy this week. :D

Right now I am wiping the sleep out of my eyes....seems like I do that for about 2 hrs. in the mornings :D
I am going to finish up some displays here at work and work on some knives at the house. I have to get my back looked at this Sat. Seems like I am having a nerve that gets pinched from time to time. That scares me a little......

That's funny Jeff. I was sitting here thinking of starting a Monday thread and just saying that they stink.
I'm going to make myself finish a small welding forge. Then I can really get sidetracked away from other projects that I'm already putting off.

no doubt they suck. Good thread -- we can see what everyone accomplished (or not) over the weekend. :D

I couldn't get too much finished this weekend. It seems like I'm about out of everything. :grumpy: Did some shop cleaning, and a lot of handrubbing. Got the ol' "cramped" fingers this morning.

Jeff, good thinking, a Monday thread. I am still organizing the shops and am waiting for some material to finish the insides. Menard's says the middle or last of this week they will have it in. I probably won't pick up my #2 forge until tomorrow. I go to work this afternoon, day job still a must. My contractor has some varmints on his place just outside town. He asked me to eliminate them, so it's time to drag out the .17 . Our squirrel season opens Wed., so that is taken into account for the week, too. IG, TREE RAT SEASON IS GOING TO OPEN! I don't have that small game knife finished, the one with IG's great damascus.

Hmmmph! Three cups of thick brown muddy coffee, and I'm still not awake enough for any semblance of cognitive reasoning. Like Micheal, my hands are stiff and cramped from overuse. I didn't even get a chance to go riding my atv this weekend other than a few drunken wheelies in the driveway last night, much to my wife's dismay.

Yep, I'm begining to think a Monday thread is a good idea.

Finished a cord wrap on a small knife last night. Will set with epoxy today.
The hammon shows up exceptionally well on this one. I'll post picts later.
Working on some prototypes, don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet.
There is some D2 in the shop calling for a beatin. Probably going to be a busy week on the farm so I'm not sure how much will get done.

I hate Mondays, That just means Tuesday is tomorrow. then you have Wednesday  but Thursdays starts looking better,,
Fridays are good because Saturdays are next.. :)

nothing ever gets done on Monday. it seems to be business clean up day

from the weekend e-mail crowd and shipping stuff, but it all pays the bills
:)

With the hours I work (third shift) Mondays are no different then any other day. My day off, actually night off is Thursday nite. I'm scrambling to finish up four big game hunting knives for a gunshow the weekend after Labor day. This is an exsisting show with a new format. Was a 250 table show now going to 1000 tables. From two days to three days. Outdoor/Gun and Knife show. Hopefully it will draw more people, but I think it's bad timing for this type of show. I guess we will see. I'll get the handles on this week and do the sheath work next week. I hope to squeeze in some dove hunting on Thurs. afternoon. My anniversary is Wed. so time will be spent with the wife.

Mondays can be depressing but I found some info on another forum and I just had to pass it along. I consider political conventions to be boring and unlike the old days they serve no purpose. However at the Republican National Convention they are handing out Bandaids that look like Purple Heart Medals !!!!

Monday wasn't so good for me. My Daughter just landed a job after being laid off for many months. Now normally this would be great but the job is 3rd shift so guess who got elected to baby sit her 3 kids over night? I guess this comes with being their grandfather. At least they will remember me when they get older which is more than some grandkids can say.
I do have something to look forward to though. The Davis Motorcycle Rally is coming up in about 2 weeks and Grandkids or not I am going to it. My Son is going with this year so we will get to ride together all around N. E. Iowa. He bought a new Road Star and built a trailer to pull so he is looking forward to trying out his new equipment.

MONDAYS!!

It's all in your perspective :D :D :D :D :D Monday is just another day.

Monday was so busy here I didn't get to this thread till today. :p :p :p

Sweany, who is not looking at monday with brown coloured glasses.

I was also busy yesterday working on my press. I should finish it up today. With any luck I may be making some pattern welded steel by the weekend.

On Monday I assembled the handle on a "flint" ground hunter. This morning I got it rough shaped; tomorrow I'll finish sand and seal it, and Thursday polish that baby off. I'll make the sheath on Friday and with any luck sell it on Saturday. Get some weekend money! :D

In my paying job, Monday sucked, today I was too sleepy to be worth much and now I'm counting down to Friday...

Is it still Monday? I kinda like Monday's........ There all good days, just depends as to what your doing. When you job is something you like doing sure makes it better. Now if I was back hammering nails for a living I'd be like the rest of you...
