ok so i removed those stag handles from that old carving set right? started work yesterday, on filing etc to use an old blank i had. today i got it ready and the new blade set.

set the blade and bolster in first

this is what i did while waiting for the epoxy to dry enuf to do the other end....
[/IMG]
prefer to do that sorta stuff in my leisure, not when im wanting to get a fire going.
after about an hr turned er over and pour in the epoxy and set the butt cap
still need to do some clean up on the blade...its been sitting around for a few yrs.
[/IMG]
after the rest got dry enuf to handle
[/IMG]
next to an izula for size comparison
[/IMG]
im sure this cut many a family roast/turkey/ham etc over the yrs but at this point was time to retire. i think the new life is well suited to that old stag handle
[/IMG]
btw started some scales outta that osage orange i was batoning a cupla weeks ago. have this nice old western blade to put em on

will take that "new" brusletto out for a spin in a few days after its hardened completely
thanks
