I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct section, so please move this if not.

I was looking at the Benchmade site and they have the Harley Davidson money clip knife which looks pretty cool. I thought it a bit pricey, especially for an import. Does anyone know of a well designed money clip knife? I like the 2" blade on the HD. Thanks

Take a look at the Boker Subcom - I have one (I do not use it as a money clip) but it will definately work as one. Everyone I have shown that knife to who doesn't know knives swore it was soem type of moneyclip before I opened it.

The AUS8 blade holds an edge well. It looks a little awkward - but you have to hold one in your hand to appreciate it.

Of course, William Henry now makes money clips to match their knives - but if I bought one of those I'd have nothing to put in it!!

I have used a SOG blink as a money clip with great success. Small, sharp, fast. The only drawback is that it is only AO which can draw attention in some situations. As of late, I've just been using a cheap Gerber folding box opener. It uses standard and contractor grade razor blades, is totally invisible as a knife when money is clipped to it, the blade actually locks open, and it was a measly 9 bucks at Target.

I second the Boker Subcom, it makes a great money clip knife. I use it like one when I actually need to carry cash. Its a great low profile way to carry a knife, usually goes un noticed on most pocket dump searches.

I agree on both of those, and then there's the CRKT KISS folder. Gerber has a similar one too.

Do any of the custom guys make this type of thing?

I would probably choose a Boker of some variation. I like the closed rectangle design most as it replicates some of my previous clips. Currently mine is a Gerber mini-covert that inherited the duty after the loss of my beloved money clip. Get a Boker Subcom and lighter is better for this application.

Check out the byrd flatbyrd, spyderco spydercard, and the spyderco cricket. those three would all work.

These all seem to look decent. I got a chance to fondle a CRKT in a store the other day. It seems like a good design. I'm going to try handle a few more before I buy.

There's also the Boker Keycom and the Spyderco Spin.

The Byrd Flatbyrd and Spyderco Spydercard won't work because there's no clip on either of them. Both were designed to be carried in a wallet. The Spydercard is also no longer made. Sierra Trading Post is closing out the Flatbyrds so I'm not sure how long they'll be made, either.

I went from a dedicated money clip (made by Gerber, long since discontinued) to a Spyderco Cricket. Carried the Cricket for a long time and it makes a good money clip. But when I discovered the Money Clamp, I dropped the Cricket cold. The Money Clamp works so good. Besides, we all carry a knife anyways right? Check out the Money Clamp. Wonderful product.

I picked up a Gerber utility knife/money clip over the weekend for $13. I'm pretty impressed with this little knife. Folded up it doesnt even really look like a knife and can be taken out anywhere. buck 110 inluded in picture to show size.

You did good, Reznik:thumbup:

I would have the same thing in my pocket as I type...if I hadn't forgotten it on the sink this morning:foot:

I don't usually carry cash, but the Gerber is a great little throw away beater. For anyone that hates cleaning the tape gunk off their EDC, I highly recommend it:thumbup:

I have both of the gerbers mentioned so far and I love both of them. I have had no issues with either one and they're both dirt cheap.
I even put a hook blade in the utility knife and used it for underlayment on a laminent floor it performs well. I cary the ridge and a suspention every where I go. I am cheep and so is Gerber so it works out.

I like my victorinox money clip. Its blade is very small, slightly larger than classics but I find its scissor being very good and its sturdy and light. Besides its blade length and non-locking nature makes it fully legal almost anywhere.
