Right now I have $98 in my Paypal account. It is burning a virtual hole in my pocket.

If you had $98 waiting to be spent, what would you buy? I do not have the foggiest idea what I want. I figured that some of you may think of something that I have not and then i will purchase "your" suggestion. I would prefer your suggestion to be a knife. By the way, I do not currently own a fixed blade.

How 'bout a nice harness jack? It's certainly high on my list for "must have soon!"

Go right here: http://www.shadowknives.com/modelix.html

You will have a fine handmade knife, great sheath (it usually comes with the pouch type sheath which is thick and well made.) and $8 left over. You have some nice Micarta handle options, even bone. And, it will usually not be more than a month's wait, less maybe. Or check and see if Eddie has anything still on hand.

P.S. You might recognize that knife at the top of the page.

Oh, I should also add that I am not affiliated or selling anything for Eddie. I've never even met him. I'm just a very satisfied customer.

Amos, that is a really really good suggestion. When I saw that one that sunnyd had I figured he paid and arm and a leg for it. I really really want one of those knives now. I am going to have to really look at the different materials now for the handle.

You could buy one of Eddie White's (user name shadowknives) Model IX fixed blades, in fact, and still have $8.00 left.
(EDIT: I see that someone already recommended this as I was posting!)

Although, looking at your question, this is not what I would buy with $98.00, because I already have a Model IX
and another one on order.

I'd be checking the Makers section here on BF regularly for a custom fixed blade.

If I really didn't want to wait for something to come along, I'd buy either an
Ontario RTAK II or a Fort Turner Rangers Tomahawk.

If it were me I'd add a couple of bucks to that $98 and get the sheep horn hunter on Eddie's page.

Or (not to suggest they're as good or better, but) I'm a recent Bark River convert, and really enjoy some of their blade styles. It might be worth a look to see what that money might buy there.

Or you could transfer the money to me, since my birthday's coming up, and I can afford all those various mags I have in my shopping cart over at Midway... :)

You don't wanna be me - I'd blow it on another trapper probably. Like I need more. Maybe an older 47 pattern Case

LOL. Transfer the money to you. :D

I was actually somewhat interested in the Ontario TAK-1 or the RAT-5. I don't really know what I would do with the knife, other than take it camping with me and say "hey, look at this knife". :D

I may look at the Bark Rivers also. They seem like they would make a neat little fixed blade for EDC.

The only problem eith that Fort Turner link is there are too many SWEET tomahawks on there. Good hawks at decent prices. I may just have to go for one of those poll hawks soon. One of Eddie's knives and one of those hawks, a fellow would have a kit that just shines. Not to mention one that would do a heck of a lot of work. Thanks for the Hawk link Rifon2! I've been mulling over getting another tomahawk to replace the one I swapped my Dad.

One of Charlie's (Waynorth) harness jack SFOs is a good thing too. See how good we are at helping you spend your money? :D

I am also looking at this knife. A S&M Corncob Gunstock. I must give credit to Cumberland Knife Works for the picture.

Nope! Don't like that Corn Cob jigging at all! ;)

An SFO S&M Autumn Maze CC trapper. I just like to open the box and look at it. If I ever get around to making a lined leather pocket pouch for it I'll carry it sometimes. I even got a great deal on it off ebay from PGQuick (Greg) over in Alabama.

Ugly, junky knives, you don't want that! LOL.

I'm with you on this Amos Iron Wolf - the S&M's are just too pretty to carry.

And certainly too pretty to actually use.

If you don't go with Eddie, I highly recommend Nick Allan. He's NWA on the fixed blade forums. Check out the O-1 hunter/skinner thread for the one I recently bought. It's a great, well made knife & with all due respect to the other makers there, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for $100. I like it so much, I've already ordered the same knife in a larger version.

Holy cow. Thanks for all the suggestions. I just spent some of that money on another Buck 110. I just love those knives. I'll end up probably buying a Queen stockman, whittler, or canoe with the money that is left. :)

Pay down part of my custom camp knives orders. Trust me, when I get them, I'll hopefully be able to post pics, and they will be traditional!
