Just got the new 0550 scale in today:

It works really nice on the 0550.
It wouldn't be as great on the 0551, as the 0551 has a much larger chamfer around the edge. The extra chamfer actually makes the 0551 nicer to use for hard use, as in actually using the knife to cut forcefully, not prying.
The 0550 DID work quite nice for prying the veneer off the coffee table though. Between the 0550 and a long screwdriver, I had the proper tools for the job.
The 0550 was great for chipping off all the old, degrading glue as well. It doesn't work as a power sander though...how disappointing.:D

The 0550 looks WAY better with the new scale, and peels less skin off my hand when I reach past it in the pocket to get my wallet. Grippy enough without being a skin remover.

No love for the 0550 with new scale, eh?

Guess it's all about the 0560/0561's now.:D

I dig it. Man do i want my 0550. I don't think i've ever been so excited about a knife before. If i can justify the cost I'm going with red, blue, yellow or orange scales if i can find em. the black/green or whatever that color is is pretty sweet though.

What do you think about the quality

The quality is right up there.
I'd say it's the best value out right now for titanium framelocks.
American made, with premium quality materials and the option to customize for reasonable prices.
I like it alot, and I have the Umnumzaan and other very expensive knives to compare it to.:)
The pocket-clip holds the knife in place without eating your pocket lining up, so that's a plus as well. And it's over-built enough to handle the occasional bit of abusive use as well.

can't wait to get my orange monkey edge 0550, it should be here tomorrow! it will be my first ZT, but i have a feeling i will end up with several more.

I love my 0550. I have a blue frag scale but I'm really liking the Hinderer blue/B. lack scale I have on it now. Is that a green scale? It's hard to tell on my phone.

lol i've already tried to buy the knife i was just trying to ask about the quality of the replacement scale. Do you think it's really worth $65?

Oh...oops!:o
I'd say it is if you don't like the look or feel of the original one. I feel the quality is there in the replacement scales.
I did not like the stock scale on the 0550, and as it would cost at least $65 to have somone make a replacement scale, the price was worth it to me.:)
As my wife noted, it makes it look like a whole new knife and it truly does.
