I need 5 thread starts to be eligible for Beckerhead-dom

I only have 1 Becker, a BK2. I bought it because my nephew showed up here with an Esee 5 and I was impressed with the 1/4" thick blade. It seemed to me to be (with the inclusion of perhaps another blade) the perfect do almost anything knife. Coming here and doing a little research I concluded the BK2 was a better buy than the Esee. I ordered mine from GG&G in Tucson. They offered "enhanced scales" for a $20 adder... I figured "why not?". I disliked the BK22 canvas sheath mainly because it is 3" longer than the knife. It is usable to lash the knife to a backpack or something similar but not for every day carry. I ordered a handmade leather sheath off eBay which works quite well. I'm really impressed with the knife so far. The handle is much better than the Esee and the "enhancement" provides great traction. The thickness and angle of the cutting edge puts my limited sharpening skill to the test but I can take a few hairs off of my arm with it.

Glad to be here

Thanks. I have a drawer full of knifes I've accumulated over the past 45 years. One for about every purpose I can think of. Some are good, other not so good but all are usable. I look through the Becker lineup but don't see anything that I don't have which will pretty much serve the same purpose. None of which has a 1/4" thick blade however.... I had to have one of those.

You have to get atleast a 9 as well, then a 16 to pair with it, but now the 2 is lonely so you'll need an 11 to keep it company. [emoji6] now that you've gone this far you might as well get a 4,5, and 15, before there all gone. But now the 4 is lonely, which can easily be solved with a 17...and the reasoning just goes on from here. Soon you'll have em all and you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing you have the best collection [emoji4]

There's always room for desert...and Beckers!

Yup those are some nice looking scales. The 2 was my first, but the only mods i did was to strip the blade and get some better pants for it.

DDDWho, I really like your setup. The combination of scales and sheath make it probably the most unique BK2 I've seen on the interweb.

The sheath maker knew what he was doing. The knife kinda snaps in place in the last inch or so as you slide it in. I don't think the knife will come out by accident under normal use. You might try cartwheels or hanging upside down in a tree and I doubt it would come out then. I like the fact that with a slight tug you can unsheathe it, no snaps to mess with.
I'm not much of a fan of gaudy leather tooling, this one is as about as plain as was available in the few the maker had listed.
It is a sturdy, well made piece of equipment that should last as long as the knife. Thanks for you comments

just got my first as well, BK2. this thing will definitely last longer on earth than I will lol.

Bk2 was the first Becker I ever bought and I still have it. That knife has been through hell and back and still holds a edge and is as solid as the day I bought it. One great knife. But be warned its a gateway knife. You will buy more
