I need 5 thread starts to be eligible for Beckerhead-dom
I only have 1 Becker, a BK2. I bought it because my nephew showed up here with an Esee 5 and I was impressed with the 1/4" thick blade. It seemed to me to be (with the inclusion of perhaps another blade) the perfect do almost anything knife. Coming here and doing a little research I concluded the BK2 was a better buy than the Esee. I ordered mine from GG&G in Tucson. They offered "enhanced scales" for a $20 adder... I figured "why not?". I disliked the BK22 canvas sheath mainly because it is 3" longer than the knife. It is usable to lash the knife to a backpack or something similar but not for every day carry. I ordered a handmade leather sheath off eBay which works quite well. I'm really impressed with the knife so far. The handle is much better than the Esee and the "enhancement" provides great traction. The thickness and angle of the cutting edge puts my limited sharpening skill to the test but I can take a few hairs off of my arm with it.
Glad to be here
