Monochrome a steal or what!!?

Just traded for one on the exchange forum and I am very impressed. The fit and finish are excellent. It's got silky smooth action, feels pretty good in the hand, and locks up like a friggin' tank. The blade is perfectly centerd in the handle when closed as well. Never had a knife with this N690 steel so it was a little obscure to me, but it seems to take a scary sharp edge and hold it decently. Seems like one of the best deals in the knife world in the 30 to 40 $ range or anyother for that matter. Just wanted to share my experience with this slick little blade. Only complaint is that it's a little heavy for a knife this size but very tough as a result.
 
I've seen N690 compared to 440C and VG10 both in discussions here. Wonder which it is actually more similar to?

Little of both, in my experience at least. Doesn't hold an edge quite as well as VG-10, more like 440C; but it takes a fairly coarse "toothy" edge, similar to VG-10.
 
I agree with all, I love mine (although tip-down) just found it a bit heavy for edc. N690, :thumbup:
