Oh my god!!! There it is for real! I read about this legendary knife but didnt know you owned one Howard. That is a very special blade for sure! May good Karma be with you forever Howard! Yes love the seal! Very cool!

If you want some interesting history on this knife search the forum (including archives) for Ganga Ram and display oldest posts first. This is one of the first three that came through from Ganga's stint at Bir Gorkha. Forumite Berkley bought it, and later it came into my hands. A wood piece chipped off the handle near the butt during shipping. I superglued it back on. I think 8 GR knives were planned during Ganga's stay. Each one was unique. I searched old posts but couldn't find out how many were actually produced. Hence the empty parenthesis in my note. Perhaps an astute researcher amongst the forumites can uncover that number and then Yangdu could fill in the parenthesis prior to sale. EDIT - Knives from Ganga went to: Nahn, Berkley (this one), Dave K., Harry, Yvsa, Howard, Don G., Stephen F., Ugly Jim, Jay H. Total 10. If you find additions or corrections to this list post here and reference the thread. I'll update the list above and the number if new information is posted.

Bura, the royal kami, is Ganga Ram's nephew. One wonders just how much of his skills he picked up from his older uncle in the hills before coming to the big city of Kathmandu and making a name for himself. Reference the kami biographies page at http://www.himalayan-imports.com/bio.html .

Please let people who may be interested know about this knife. Here's a chance to buy a master's blade with good karma money. (Every edge helps when fighting terrible monsters.) Let's get it sold and the funds to Nepal.

If it doesn't sell, I have another idea up my sleeve for it.

Big thanks to the stealth shark, whoever you are. I was about to break the bank on this one!!!

Congratulations to the stealthy shark! A wonderful blade at any price to the shark and a nice amount to help the Kamis, Sarkis and rest at HI during this time. Which leads me to a heartfelt thank you to Howard for being able to arrange this event and packaging it in such a great way to make sure the understanding of why this knife is so special and worth the price. Hope the stealth Shark does indeed show more pictures, that would be wonderful should they choose to do so.

You got a lot of monsters in your parts eh philllll?
Grats to the New owner of that GR. I tried but the final number kept coming up red:grumpy:
I do hope to see more pics too:cool: That should help out a bunch of good folks in Nepal! Well done Howard!

To the new bladepartner (for one does not master such a blade as this) - Perhaps we will meet when the next trans-dimensional portal begins to open. I'll be there with one of old Ganga's blades in hand. Perhaps the other 8 blades will meet at that time also. This was never my knife. I paid a price to host it and learn from it for a while. Mine was personally put into my hand by Bill, and moves with my thoughts and intentions like no other.

I hope the blade has finally found it's intended partner. It wandered and taught for a while. I guess my days of 2-Ganga Indian Club training are over. I may have to get a mace for my off hand now.

I suggest you do the search I recommended above and either print or save the old threads. They tell some of the history of old Ganga and his knives. Many of the pictures are already gone.

When I get back to my offline archives I'll try to post a picture of old Ganga and his boy (70 years old) helper.

Namaste.
