Montana Mafia???

OK, there's 100 people living in the state of Montana and 52 of them are knife makers, what's going on here? What I want to know is Who is who in the Montana Mafia? Who started it all? Who is the Capo Di Tutti Capi? If you don't make ABS Master Smith by the age of 21 are you forced to leave the state? Do they take out contracts on Damascus makers that live outside the state? I'm Italian and there is no Italian Mafia, but are there any Italians in the Montana Mafia?

Spill the beans, I want answers and names?

Somewhat disreputable sources inform me that Rob Simonich is really Don Roberto Vito Simonovichi. :D

His real weapon of choice is a ball bat and a phone book. :eek:
 
I do not know all the names off the top of my head, but there was an article in Blade a while back. I will try to fish it out at some point.

I have a wish to attend one of their hammer-ins one day if they will let a Tennessee/Gawgia boy in. :)

Here is a partial list off the top of my head I am sure there are contributors here that know all of them and the list keeps growing every year. I think it is pretty obvious that these folks love to share their knowledge and I think the Wyoming gang :D is also pretty close to this small group.

I didnt think that would ever get out! Well, now that my cover is blown, they wont let me in cause I am a little too crazy for them. :D

and Gus, what about Ed Caffrey?
 
Ed is definatly a card carrying member.

He may even be their secret "hit man".

I think I met Josh at a side table at the 1996 Blade Show. He was all of 15 or 16 at the time and his work looked good then. His damascus is awesome to me.

Wonder where he learned all that :D.

HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!

I think there are about 15,000 people in Montana, only 14,900 of them are unidentified and hiding from big brother. ;)

I'm waiting for Mayo to move there soon and change the address listed on his web page to some Podunk PO Box :D
 
After seeing Joe Olson's "Midnight In The City" theme mosaic damascus folder pieces, one of which won the glass for Best Patternwelded Damascus at the Expo 2002 this past weekend, I'd have to say that now more than ever if he ain't a member of the Mafia, he d$%^##$ well should be IMHO.:):)

As soon as the global warming thing really starts going and its 100 degrees around here in the summer....might even move farther north than Robs teepee!! :rolleyes:
