Hey,
I have been reading up on slipjoint knife making and think that it would fun to learn more and see it happen. Does anyone know of any classes/makers in the southwest Montana region who may be willing to have me hover over their shoulder and ask questions? Thanks.

Go to Chris Craword website and purchase the video "Slipjoint making by Luke Swenson"

This will show you in detail everything you need to know how to make a slipjoint from scratch.

Thank you, Adam. There are numerous slipjoint videos there (Brewer, Crawford, Swenson), so it is good to hear a recommendation for a specific one.

+1 for the Crawford and Swenson dvd’s

Yes, thank you. I have watched both of those videos and have some O1 steel on the way. If the result is not too embarrassing, I will post a picture.

I have the Swensen, Rupple and Craig Brewer videos.
All are great, but Swensons is the best for a new maker and he shows a lot of steps that make it clear.
