Caught these yesterday --- It was a beautiful day (60 degrees and no wind) They are ready for the pan.

The ice on our lakes and rivers is starting to get rotten and will hopefully be gone soon.

These were caught on spinners. I'll start fly fishing when the water warms a bit.
By May, leech patterns will produce and we'll get some dry fly action in the early Summer. I've caught Rainbow, Brown, Walleye and Northern (and Whitefish) on the same day.

Sept is a wonderful month to fish here. We like to dry fly fish in Sept -- Impossible to tell you what will work best, but you could stock up on some of the old favorites in both dry and wet offerings. The Royal Coachman in 12-14, still catches a lot of fish. When you get near where you will be fishing; ask the local fly shop what is working.

Rainbow aren't native to this area but both Browns and Rainbows DO re-produce naturally here.
