Congrats on some nice trout! I wish we had trout like that down here where I live.

Oh man, I couldn't be more envious.
Thats a dream of mine, to land a couple beauties like that and get them straight into the cast iron pan.

Have not fished Montana yet. All around you though. Fly rod or spinning?

These were caught on spinners. I'll start fly fishing when the water warms a bit.
By May, leech patterns will produce and we'll get some dry fly action in the early Summer. I've caught Rainbow, Brown, Walleye and Northern (and Whitefish) on the same day.

Thanks, all, for your kind comments.:)

Beauties! Nice catch Larry. I will be out your way in Sept for a fishing trip. Whats the fly of choice that time of year?

Nice catch, Larry, beauties indeed !
Are they native or stocked ?

Sept is a wonderful month to fish here. We like to dry fly fish in Sept -- Impossible to tell you what will work best, but you could stock up on some of the old favorites in both dry and wet offerings. The Royal Coachman in 12-14, still catches a lot of fish. When you get near where you will be fishing; ask the local fly shop what is working.
