Has anyone else been following the progress of this company? The website doesn’t have much up, yet, but I learned through Instagram that the production version of Laconico’s EZC should be $225 and available in Dec/Jan. As a huge fan of Ray’s designs, I’m pretty damn excited.

Friends and family, maybe?
yes. And never pay in advance. Just asking for excuses, delays and broken promises. The same thing happens over and over. A pyramid scam knife maker...I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt but don’t be stupid.

I do not pay in advance unless I know the maker and their reputation. I have no problem paying someone like JK knives or others I have dealt with in the past. Usually, if I understand correctly, when you purchase an item from a dealer they pay fees on their end to pay pal as a seller, a few ask to send friends and family so they get the full amount without paying fees, so net is what they are asking for a product. If I understand Sosa Sosa , he is saying do not pay funds up front because if this seller is relatively new or has not been on these forums awhile, things can go south quick if delays and things happen. Not to hurt someone's rep, but still be cautious. Please correct me if I am wrong, just my thoughts.

I think there may be some misunderstanding here. This brand is a collaboration between Ray Laconico and a friend of his who is a known and reputable dealer. The venture is new, but each of these guys has been known for some time.

Having said that, the advice is sound. Discretion is always a beautiful thing. I’m not generally the type to get anything before reviews or reports come in, specifically around business practices and fit & finish. Knowing what Ray is about, this one actually has me giddy enough that I may gamble on an early order.

Gotcha, makes sense. Thanks for the clarification, did not mean to imply anyone one bad, but you are correct, discretion is the better part of valor.
