January was the month of the black knife at Guinea Hog Forge. Here are two knives Scott made - one for an Elite Forces giveaway and another that went to our favorite dealer.

The Bushman has been a great design for us, and this is the first one dressed in black. It will go to an US Marine from an elite special forces unit.

The Bushman Elite
Steel: 1084
Finish: Bead-blasted & Parkerized
Overall Length: 10 inches
Blade Length: 5 1/4 inches
Guard: 416 stainless
Handle: Bead-blasted black Micarta

The Merlin is a new design with Scott's signature clip. The blade and guard were bead-blasted, Parkerized and hand-buffed, while the African Blackwood handle was hand-sanded, then bead-blasted on the belly to give it a bit of texture.

That Merlin has so much going for it. Lines, complimentary materials and textures, handle contouring. Wow!

Superlative work.....as always....and that table full of knives for Wilson is VERY IMPRESSIVE, to say the very least. :)

i have the top knife in Hand right now, it is as you would expect coming from Scott. I am waiting on one more knife from another maker and these will all be photographed and shipped to the Marines.........
 
Wonderful knives as always! The Merlin is very cool, love the lines and choice of material. :thumbup:
 
Badass. What a shot, all those knives and sheaths on the table. I know that's a LOT of hours right there.
 
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Yes, that table was a lot of work and a lot of stress, but I enjoyed making all of the black knives last month. I hope the new owners are happy with the results.
