Hi folks Well this knife took me a for a ride I took the order for it at blade this year the collector wanted the Sun fighter I had sold it to Roger already he ask if I would make another one I said yes but wanting to do something different I said how about I make you the Moon fighter OK lets do it. well let me tell you making stars is not that easy it took a few try's to get something I liked. If someone could Post the pics big that would be great I still cant work this new format.

Dave, That's too much: a really cool knife.

The Sun Damascus you had at Blade was fantastic, and the moon's a match. You're the Damascus man!

Incredible, yet again Dave. You've got some mad damascus skills. :)

And the rest of the knife is pretty sweet as well. Really like the crescent moon carved in the ivory.

fantastic damastic!
I love you man- you're so good for this scene :)

Here we go. A knife that does not look exactly like 100 other knives. Something unique AND cool.

Congrats to you and the lucky owner. And thanks for sharing!

That is just fantastic Dave - you are a wizard with damascus. I am sure the lucky new owner will be thrilled.

Here's the third set of images to gander upon...

As has been proven, Dave is creative and incredibly complex in his builds.

Thanks Dave! Always a pleasure. The rich blue background is thematic for the moon.

The carved moon in the handle and the display stand with ivory posts are both nice little extras.

Thank you all I am calling this damascus pattern star night it is not hard to do but it dose take a lot of welds so you lose a lot of steel I started with two big billets and ended up with enough steel to make 3 knives. I am hoping to have one done for the Arkansas show.

Dave

Another fabulous job all- around!
You have really come up with some spectacular patterns :thumbup:

I think your sense of flow/style is also evolving and in an impressive way :D

Plus, as Roger said, I've always liked your "whimsical" touches - the stands you do are way cool

Love it
