Moonglow?

I recently saw the forum knife for EDCF, which was a Manix 2 with Moonglow scales. As I'm a huge fan of all things that glow in the dark, I am curious if there is any future plans for Moonglow being used in a Spyderco? Any word, rumors or glowing wishes? :)

I haven't heard anything but I'm not very up-to-date on what's going on with spyderco. You could always have Tuffthumbz make you some glowy scales, he uses moonglow a lot.

I doubt it. The Moonglow acrylic is much more brittle than other materials Spyderco uses. It's also a pain to shape - regular production methods for G10/CF/Micarta don't work well. Definitely cool stuff, however.

Check out John Grimsmo he makes some cool aftermarket scales. I have a moonglow and its cool but I find the scales a little slick for edc, even with all the jimping. If it was on a small knife it would probably not be such an issue.

You can buy moonglow scales from usa knifemaker, but of course you will have to fabricate them yourself.
