I got my Moore double bit hatchet out . They are a hardware store of sorts ,out of matador TX. I was looking for a double bit . It's a american made out of carbon steel.
I forgot who made these heads for them . The only fault the head is on the small side . One side is ground thin to cut . The other is convex for spilting . Some times a good little hatchet is handy deer hunting. I have forgotten who made these heads up for them

I don't know who made them, but I remember the heads being very thick.
A nearly identical looking hatchet is made in Taiwan, branded marbles as well as random brands like Timberwolf from BudK.

They don't offer these anymore, but they do have a polished up rebrand of the little Vaughn and Bushnell 8oz super sportsman hatchet.
I personally would just get a standard V&B and tune it up myself doing a much better job ( as I have done to a few of them already) , but if somebody wants a leather sheath and isn't up for putting the work in or buying a vintage Craftsman rebrand on Ebay then I suppose they're a good option.

Thank you . I started my woods walking journey with a estwing hatchet. This was about 1965. And low and behold I still have it . You know the type a rubber type handle. They are still made i believe. Quite useful in more ways than one . The handle is a little short but I always let the fire burn the logs and limbs in half.
My fire technique is very old school, don't waste any energy. Back to the hatchet any of the old ones are worth a new handle. I believe the belt axe were very popular back in the day .

Yes they still offer them with the blue handles as well as their classic sportsman with stacked leather handle in 2 sizes.
