I'm looking to pick up a carbon-steel trapper, and Moore Maker has caught my eye. I have read of quality control issues, weak backsprings etc. Any reason to chose them over a Queen or a Case?

You can get them in carbon steel, which you can't always do with every pattern in Queen and Case.

They also offer some neat pattern/scale material combos.

I have an older Moore Maker that is top notch.

I have a bunch, all great

The only one I had with issues, I bought as a second

Several manufacturers produce or produced knives for Moore Maker. The common thread is carbon steel & made in USA . There are several threads discussing this.
I have several MM trappers made by Camillus, they are well made, well finished strong and graceful. I have seen & held a MM trapper made by Queen (in CS) and while somewhat sturdier was a very very nice knife. Since Camillus went under they have been getting working knives from Bear & Son (marked with a B), I have no firsthand experience with these however the forum gives them mixed reviews and they are sold at a discount.
If you stick with Queen & Camillus produced Moore Makers's you will get a fine knife as well as dealing with a stand up company.
