I've always wanted a Remington R1123 trapper, true to form with carbon steel and flush bolsters, but haven't had the patience or funds to track down an original or have one built. The best factory rendition I've seen to date was the late-70's early 80's Camillus/Collins Bros/Bowen "Authorized Reproduction" knife. The flush bolsters are a key work of master craftsmanship- and those knives look like they were very well made.

Would any of you fellas know if the Mooremaker #3206 has the flush bolsters like the original design? My bet is they are made by Bear & Son of Jacksonville, AL - which doesn't get my hopes up, lol! They are carbon steel however, and Moore has an awesome reputation for taking care of their customers, so I'm sure any poor finishing coming out of Jacksonville would be addressed.

So how bout it - anyone have one and like to post some pics, add a few comments?

Thanks,
Casey

The earlier GEC #23 models are the best Remington-like knives out there, IMO.
All the Bear & Sons are lesser that I have seen.
I have owned some beautiful Remington #1123's and only the GECs are comparable, but you better have good thumbnails!!

Casey I got this one when I sold my Remington for an offer I could not refuse!! This knife cost 10% of the REM, but is every bit as good!!

The scratches are on the Scanner glass, NOT on the knife!!

Good call, waynorth - forgot all about GEC and I even own a handful of them. :) Fit and finish is superb - I feel you really get your money's worth with GEC. Been a little discouraged with finding particular patterns and scales in the past, as if you dont catch them as they're released they can be a little hard to come by, but I'm thinking a #23 is worth the hunt - and I certainly prefer a strong back spring on a hard working knife! I'll start my search tonight - Thanks!
