I designed this knife a while back and had been planning to make it myself as my first "from scratch" project, but other commitments (remodeling my home) have kept me from working much with knives.
I talked to Bill Siegle about making it and he agreed, a few months later heres the result.
I decided to call it the Moose-knuckle because it's big, ugly and I first started thinking about the design while we were camping in Maine this past year.
The main goal was something that was suitable for camp/hunting chores, thin for ease of carry or packing and beefy enough to be used for batoning through wood or heavier chores.
It has a full flat grind and tapers all of the way to the tip. I plan to add a bail in a few days which is why I asked for the 1/8" hole at the butt.
Spec's:
Blade: Just under 4.5"
OAL: 10"
Thickness: 3/16"
Steel: 154CM
Hopefully this weekend I can start working on a variety of sheaths for it.
Overall Bill did a great job going from paper to steel, I couldn't be happier with the final product.
Let me know what you think, thanks!
