Moose scales?

Has moose antlers ever been considered a possibility for scale material? If not why not? I'm just curious that's all. I've seen other horn options for scales. Even own a few different horn scaled 110s. Was wonder about moose antlers. Any answers would be appreciated.

Other than the shape I don't see why it wouldn't work as well as any other antler?

Leroy Remer was selling some Moose horn scaled knives a few years ago! If photobucket did not kill our photo history you could have found some pic's i'm sure.

There was a guy on the Bay a few months ago that had re-handled a couple of 112's with Moose antler that looked intresting . I bid till it was higher than I was willing to pay. I don't think I have ever seen a factory knife with Moose horn but like all horn it depends on the slab and grade selected as how it looks.

Been wondering about this lately myself, if I can find a cheap antler(not likely!) to cut up I might try. Have also thought about using the flat surfaces for handgun grips.
