So I got me a Mora 2000 after several year of Ho humming !
I remember when they came out , I was all ... Ho Hum !
Anyways , for some reason I had a 2000 itch that needed scratching .

THe knife is well polished .
THe handle is comfortable .
The knife is relatively light weight ( make for a 2nd knife )
THe blade is UBER thin ! I don't want to test it .. But I might be able to break it with my bare hands !
Especially where it goes into the handle , if not possibly at the middle of the blade .
It does not fill me with confidence in regards to Bushy craft or survival or as a hunting knife !
As a second knife for cutting / slicing things = Sure . As a primary knife , hell no ! ( But that's just me )

To the rope slice = a 100 slice fail !
That is a disappointing result , even for a factory edge !
Speaking off , = , was not that flash , even though well polished ! ( looks VS performance )

I just spent the better part ( and then some ) of an hour resharpening the knife ..
Right at the point where the knife refused to slice paper , was a bit of a lump of steel ( thickening of the bevel )
It took a long time to clean up that lump of metal till I got a nice even bur happening ..
Then I had to clean the bur , and strop till I dropped and could no longer force a bur ..
Scandi Life !

12C27 steel HRC 57-58 fixed blade, currently about $45.00 US with sheath, surely saving up for several more months would be worth the wait.

Looking at Cliff Stamp's, Pete's Cedric and Ada, Luvthemknives, and Ankerson's, seems like your test is in the ball park, LTK tested 55.x HRC on a Mora Companion 12C27, Ankerson cut tested 12C27 to 120 slices, while Cliff varied length of edge used on 12C27 while measuring grams of pressure, and Pete's results in "cuts by steel" category with 12C27 fell close to 100-ish slices.
LT Wright and KOA both offer D2 fixed from 60 to 115.00 US at BF member knifecenter, and the exchange often has used fix blades in this price range, but with comparably stellar HRC and edge retention histories.

Yea, I was surprised it was so expensive, as Mora's are always on everyone's "great value for price" list. For me, a D2 LT Wright for 15 bucks more, is not a horse race, but I love D2 done Wright;)

Did I talk about the lump on the bevel ? I think I did ..
So , after having being re sharpened and the bevel corrected .
I got a slight increase in performance . A 350 fail .
Hmmm , 350 VS 100 .. Yeah , ill take the 350 .

I don’t care how many times it’ll cut rope, That’s one of the most useful, general purpose knives Mora has ever made.

I owned the Mora 2000, but I prefer the Mora Kansbol. Same blade as the 2000, but with an improved handle and sheath. It definitely required a few sharpenings before the edge stopped rolling all the time.

I think :
That the scandi can be made super thin when chasing sharp .. And super thin edges roll .
So right now , I am trying to micro convex my scandi edges ..
And I might be getting better at it .
