I have quite a few great knifes (Rittergrip, mini-Rittergrip, Becker BK10, BK11, Buck 500,...), but last week I purchased a KJ Ericsson #748 from Ragweedforge.com.
My plan is to use this primarily as a camp "kitchen" knife that stays in my popup camper trailer - that's why I bought the stainless blade.
Wow, what a nice knife, especially for $16 (+$5 for shipping).
The 5.75" stainless blade is VERY solid - much more so than I imagined for a thin, nearly 6" long blade. If the plan was to carry this on my belt while hiking or camping, I might look at the #711 (carbon) or #746 *stainless), with 4" blades, OR more likely the #2000, with the deeper 4.5" blade.
The handle is nicely sized & shaped with a rubbery/tacky grip. I also like that it has a very slight, but noticable and effective finger guard. Even the plastic sheath is decent for my needs and locks the knife in well. The only negative may be the belt loop attached to the sheath. Though time will tell, it doesn't look very robust. For my needs that is OK too.
