For outdoor use should I get a bk 11/14, mora knife, or Pendleton hunter by cold steel? Blade steel doesn't really matter as far as stainless vs carbon. Just need a durable, easy on the wallet fixed blade.

Mora absolutely without a doubt. The beckers are too small and cold steel isn't as good of a quality as mora assuming equivalent price tags.

I'd also go with a Mora out of those choices. Are you open to other options within the same price range as the posted models?

Nothing wrong with Mora (CS is hit and miss, in my opinion) but since you specified durable, I'd certainly go with one of your two Becker choices. I carry and use my BK11 all the time. For cleaning game, building fires or any of of a million other tasks - that knife won't let you down.

Mora... definitelly!

I own several Moras, one BK11 and a CS Lite Pendleton Hunter.

The Mora fits best in hand. Gets a great edge and will make every abuse for good-will. The other two are no bad knives. But a Mora is my favorite knife for building lot and outdoor use etc etc. And it´s in the best price range :) BTW: Whatever Mora knife you want to choose, try the Mora 711 in every case. Good swedish carbon steel and a pretty tough piece!

I own moras, bk14 and a cs pendleton mini hunter. IMHO This is how they compare.

Best value = Mora
Best knife = BK14
Least corrosive = CS Pendleton Hunter

Mora.

I own several more expensive knives, but most times when I am in the woods I have a Mora.

I'm partial to my Mora Craftline. The handle fits my hand well and the sheath works with my 1.5" belts. I rotate between my Mora and a ESEE Izula. I'm very tempted to pick up a Condor Nessmuk.

Depends what Mora i guess. I vote for the BK-14 w/handles & a TDI clip. SERIOUSLY, the handle & TDI clip make it a totally different animal. Easy to put on & take off with the TDI clip & MUCH more eronomic w/handle. And this thread needs some more pictures !

I also have a Mora bushcraft, forest. I love it too, but the sheath---not-so-much. Easy to lose the knife from it IMHO.

Mora is certainly cheaper. It is a great knife. The BK-14 for the win because it has a full width, full length, skeletonized tang, a better, more versatile sheath, & with the handle kit & TDI clip, it is the Cadillac of small blades.
