Greetings All,

This is a great site, I've spent the last few hours searching, reading and bookmarking many suggestions for my future bushcraft endeavors.

I have a real strict budget for now. I'm about to buy my first knife, the MORA Companion HD. I'm looking for a Molle solution for the knife.

I have two thoughts:
1. Drill holes thru the MORA sheath and attach a Blade-Tech Molle-Lok adapter: $13
2. purchase a Hogue Gear Fixed Blade Slim Sheath $34

The knife will cost $15 so I can't go overboard on the sheath.

I would appreciate any input on the sheath alternatives you know of for the MORA Comanion HD.

Thanks for taking the time to read and/or respond.

Jim

You could probably find a maker with the knife on hand that would make you a custom Kydex one with a couple of screw on pieces for MOLLE attachment for about the same price as the Hogue if you look around.

As for attaching a ML to the stock sheath, just know that they're not all that secure. Fine on a belt, but a pack or such is gonna be prone to more jarring and it could be an issue.

There may be a few members here, that will be able to make a cheap sheath, but I'm not 100% sure you will get it down to $30 or so (that's way cheap).

I made this sheath, myself, and I can tell you that the materials alone cost me a little under $20.

Is leather an option? If so, there is a company in Texas that sells sheaths of various sizes ready for water-fitting that have worked well for me with a variety of knives. Nothing special but do the trick. Prices run about $15. I'll pm you link if you like (they're not sponsors here).
