I don't see a lot of chatter about the Flex Knife, but it's a solid offering from Mora and one of my favorite knives, particularly at the price point.
I was first introduced to it while watching a video from FortyTwoBlades FortyTwoBlades where I believe he introduced it as one of this favorites as well (IIRC). It cuts like a laser, stupid easy to sharpen, and it's a decent general purpose knife. Mora is now proposing Flex Knife fans move to the Fillet 90, which from my experience is just a slightly dressed up blade on a companion-style handle. There's nothing wrong with it, and probably does everything the Flex Knife did, but it's not exactly the same.
I think most of us would agree that the Companion handle is very comfortable and ergonomic, but there is something I like about the Basic-style handle as well.

Any thoughts out there about these inexpensive, and (seemingly) often overlooked specialty knives?
Anyone else a little sorry to see it go?
(sorry about the terrible pictures, I snapped them on my way out the door)

I had to look it up to see the difference. At a glance the Craftline Flex and the Fishing Fillet 090 look the same except for the molded rubber texture. About a tenth of an inch difference in blade length. Fillet at BladeHQ is about $23.

I only buy American Made. However, all of us are on a budget. I don't think anyone could disagree with a Mora. Whichever one you chose to buy, it's not a wrong choice.

if you look carefully, the blade profile is different, as well. There's also small details, like the finish on the back on the fillet 090 is polished and rounded.
In practice, the fillet 90 is probably a sufficient replacement, I just don't know if I like it as much.
I mean... I already own both.

I guess what I'm saying is, I'm considering getting a couple Mora flex knives while I still can.
