Hey guys,

How about a mora forum? There surey are enough threads about them to warrent one right?

How many threads are there? Some in the Wilderness & Survival Forum do very well in that context. We might like to keep them there, because the emphasis is on using them. Others are in General Knife Discussion, because, well, they are knives. :)

There's no problem starting up a new forum if there is a significant number of posts about a particular subject. All Scandinavian knives, for example, might make a forum where Moras alone would not. See what you can find: how many threads in the past few months.

No, there aren't

These forum-splitting suggestions are getting a bit ridiculous lately. It's not a question of whether we like to talk puukkos, or even whether we like to talk puukkos made in Mora, it's a question of whether there are posts on a subject every day. If there are then we can split a forum and people will check the new forum every day and find new posts and keep going there and the new forum will thrive. If there aren't any new posts most days, people will gradually stop looking for them and the new forum will die.

It's not that we don't like Moras or kitchen knives or traditional fixed blades....

It's a lot easier to go to New Posts when you first log in and see all the topics of interest to you instead of going to a lot of different forums. Some topics do need their own space or they would overwhelm the General discussion area. Even so, not all new forums survive. The Archives are full of good ideas that didn't last.

If it gets so there are new posts on puukkos every day then we could think about a puukko forum.
