Mora Frosts- how do I carry it?

I just got my first Mora Frost knife, the Swedish army version.(I bought it on eBay.) I noticed the funny longer slot on one side of the belt loops on the sheath. What is this for? I seem to recall reading somewhere that this is for hanging the knife from a button. (But I can't recall where or when.) If this is true, how does that work?

Any info is appreciated.
