I have a Mora knife by E. Jonsson and I can't find any info on him. All I come across is Frost or Eriksson Moras.
Anyone know about E. Jonsson produced Moras?

I understand that Jonsson Knivfabriker is or at least was one of the 3 makers of Swedish "Mora" knives. I did a search on Yahoo Sverige, but could not find anything on E. Jonsson Knives. I even searched under "Mora Kniven" but found nothing other than KJ Eriksson and Frosts. I could not find any website for E. Jonsson. Perhaps one of our Swedish forumites may be able to point us to the right direction?

I realize this is a six year old thread, but I was searching for info on this maker and this thread came up. Does anyone have any information on the E. Jonsson knives? I have Moras from Erikkson and Frosts before they merged, as well as Mora of Sweden after the merger. The two Jonsson knives I got were standard red handled Mora knives, which I got from Sportsmans Guide. Thanks.

The Emil Olsson "Pocket Knife Co" was founded in 1896 by fabricant Emil Olsson. The company's main occupation was in the welding area, i e heavy steel pipes. Eventually a minor manufacturing trial on pocket knives was inititated about 1908 and gradually increased there after.

The knives were often made out off exotic materials (mother of pearl, gold, exotic woods) and superb steels.

Emil Olsson died in 1928. The Co seized to exist in 1967.

Hello.

"Bröderna Jönsson" = Jönsson Brothers was another manufacturer from Östnor just outside of Mora in Sweden.

In Östnor in the 50's there was a lot of manufacturer of Mora knifes, FMM Mattsson, Erik Frost, Bröderna Jönsson, Krång Johan Eriksson (KJ Eriksson) and Bud Carl Andersson.

All of them where inspired by Erik Frost who started with manufacturing of knives 1890 in Östnor.

They all helped each other with components, borrowed each others machines and they shared the same manufacturer of sheaths, factory owner Ström was his name.

I dont know about E. Jonsson.

EDIT:According to this thread it is probably E Jönsson: http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?p=259735
The letter Ö is one of a kind and not so common outside scandinavia.
