This is my first knife with a scandi and I'm lovin' it. It's a #2 Mora.
First I cut the handle down 1/2 inch. I was just thinking today while awaiting my package, "What would the Mora feel like with a short, stauky handle." It actually feels good, but if I cut anymore than a half inch I would lose a full grip which is what I didn't want to do. Then, I burned the design in with a dremel sanding wheel, which is easy. Just put the dremel on high speed and watch what your doing. Last, I knurled the butt with a grinder bit.
And here is the sheath. It's not much for a nech knife sheath, but when you sit down on a log or whatever the knife will stay in a position so you don't have to shift in your seat to pull it out. Kinda like some police pistol holsters. Bill Jordan favored a gun holster as such.
