Mora sheath makers?

I am looking for a nice sheath for my Mora. It is an SL-2, (I think). It is the largest laminated steel version with a wooden handle and it comes with that lame plastic sheath.

A nice, thick, deep carry leather sheath would be perfect.

Do you guys know of one that will work that is already being made, so that I dont have to go custom? Custom is fine too, but I dont want to spend a fortune on it. I would say my budget is 40 and under.

Thanks.

+1 on JRE - it is tough to buy a NICE sheath for a knife that will then cost less than half than the sheath... but it is a great sheath nonetheless.

Brendan Gausvik (barberfobic) on here... Makes awesome scandi style mora sheathes.. great guy to work with as well.

Riley beat me to it! Brendan is great to deal with, and makes some really stylish and functional sheaths. Here's a couple for some scandis he also did...

I really like my JRE sheath. It has a handy little clip on the back that goes well with the overall handyness of the mora itself.

Ben's has some Mora sheaths made by JRE, I don't know if one of those will fit yours or not. I have the 760+ version and it's an excellent sheath IMO.

lots of the good sheath makers make em in your budget, just ask them.
of course the more labor and more exotic materials brings the price up.

Thanks for the great recommendations!!!!

I think one of the sheaths by JRE will be perfect: http://www.bensbackwoods.com/servlet/Categories?category=Knives:MORA+Sheaths+by+JRE

EDIT: I found the specs for the sheaths...

The Mora that I have (SL-2) has a:

4.25 inch blade
4.25 inch handle (including bolster)
8.5 inches overall.
The handle is about 1.25 inches at its widest point and 1 inch looking at it from the spine.

This one seems fit for my knife, but I have the larger wooden handled knife and the one shown is a #1. Again I dont want a lot of handle sticking out.

I think I might go ahead and order the 510+ sheath. If any of you have this sheath and use a Mora #2 (or SL-2) let me know how it fits please.

Thanks for the help!
