I was under the impression that Mora's were true zero degree Scandi grinds.
I own two. Both are Heavy Duty Companions. One is carbon and the other is stainless.
The carbon is a true scandi grind, purchased about a year ago.
The stainless I bought this month. Looking at the stainless through a loop, there's a slight microbevel on the right side. Use can see the microbevel with the naked eye by tilting the blade and letting the light hit the microbevel. There is no micro bevel on the left side.
Is this a new development? I'm assuming Mora knows what they are doing and put that microbevel on the stainless model for edge retention.
I'm probably going to use the Sharpmaker on the stainless and keep the carbon a true scandi.
Just thought I'd throw this out there. It's interesting to me if it is indeed a de facto admission from Mora that a microbevel is needed on the stainless blade (and presumably not needed on the carbon.)
