Hey, so I recently discovered Mora knives... I really like the Companion MG version in carbon. What do you think about these knives? For the price would this be a good buy that will last a long time?
If you have any other reecommendations for under $20 for a fixed blade lemme know! :)

I have a Mora Clipper and a Mora MG Carbon and a Mora Utility Carbon as well (this one was on sale for $5.00). I love them they are super sharp out of the box and are easy to sharpen. For the price I don't think they can be beat. I always carry one of them in my truck with me. I also found a Mora Ferriers knife at a local flea market for $7.00 but not sure when or what I will use it on. The last Mora I own is a Hook Kinfe (spoon knife) I use it when I make spoons or am carving out a bowl shape. As long as you take care of these they will last you. Since they are carbon remember you need to keep them cleaned and coat lightly with oil after use. I had one of these get some rust (I forgot to dry it and clean it after camping in damp conditions) but I got it cleaned up and its my favorite Mora. These are not choppers; if you use it for that you run the risk of nicking the blade. Scandi grind is great and I really only use a leather strop to keep them sharp (I carry small piece of belt with me to hone blade when I am out using it). Anyway thats my thoughts on the subject.

I believe condor is at about that price point. Not sure though. Haven't checked prices in a while.

CS are good; never had a Condor (but I just might have to get one now). But I looked and both are around the $25-$30 price point (varies based on knife). Its all personal preferance.

Marttiini are better knives and can be had starting at $10-$15 for the M571. The rubber handled Marttiini Condor series are excellent for around $15-$22 and have nice sheaths.

Love the mora's. Cooking spray works very well for keeping them corrosion free for long periods.

As odd as it may sound Old Hickory Butcher knives can make seviceable field/camp knives and are well under 20 bucks. With that being said you'll need to supply a sheath and give it a good sharpening/reprofiling.
