I have a Mora 2000 and two others I can't recall their model names....

Is the 2000 "the" mora knife ?

If not, then what is ???

Thanks !

.

I', partial to the mora 510 great all around size indetructable handle almost fulltang, and carbon steel blade. did I mention its only 10 bucks

to me there is no IT mora...each is outstanding in their own way for each user...i like the 2000 and the clipper and the 510 the best...neither one is better or worse than the other...

I'm not looking for the 'best value' mora, but the BEST..............

I've seen ads for some mora-like knives costing over $100.......are those really better?

.

I like the carbon clipper (the blue one). It fits nice in the hand due to the curve in the handle. My wife carries a carbon clipper with Normark pants and it works really well for her.

IMO, it defeats the purpose of the Mora to spend $100 on one.

Me too. The 2000, the clipper and the 510. No real favorites. I'd be comfortable with any of them.

(There seems to be two or three Mora threads running at any given time. You'd think they were a Busse or Sebenza!)

The 510 is the answer to your question. Best Mora ever, easy.;)

Here's mine in a virgin state-

I own 4 Mora knives, the 2000, the 711 and two 760s. The 2000 is definitely my favorite because of the nice sized and grippy handle, as well as the near full tang. I also feel that the blade of the 2000 cuts deeper, easier than the others and the knife is easily handled for more delicate shaving, notching, etc. It really is a better all around woods knife IMHO.

I think the blade quality on all the Mora Knives are outstanding. Some of the Laminated blades are more expensive and they have their pro's and con's. You won't do much better than any of the Mora knives with Carbon Steel blades. Their stainless blades are great as well, I just prefer Carbon. I have never seen a Mora knife for 100 dollars. The 2000 is the most expensive of my dozen or so Mora knives. It was 30.00

Don't get caught up in the money game, the Mora is as good of knife as most of the 100-150 dollar knives when it comes to real work. Not Pretty, No snob appeal just good quality cutting tools.

The Clipper has a super comfortable grip, and even though it isn't shaped the same as other handles, is very, very functional in hand. That said I have a 760 in "double trouble orange" coming for Christmas (I hope), but that's just because I want a sick bright orange knife and sheath. The great thing about $10 knives is that you can have 'em ALL!!!

Ragnar at www.ragweedforge.com is the single best source for Moras and other Scandinavian knives. He's friendly, honest, fair, and has a tremendous selection of cutlery at very good prices. He is the "GO TO MAN" for Moras. I think everyone here will agree on that. Check out his website. You can learn a lot there. It is updated frequently, too. Notice his instructions for sharpening Mora blades.

Sorry Jim but you are on crack. Tell this to 2 snapped moras I owned. As for real work if its in the kitchen its a fair statement.

What were you doing with them when they snapped?

I stepped on one by accident.

the other was in winter and I was trying to chip through 1 inch of ice to get water for the bottle.

Not abuse just reasonable uses youd expect of a workhorse blade.

Which models? Frosts or Eriksson?

That ??? is totally up to you. They are all good knives IMO. I like the 510. I have owned, or still do, about 14 different models.

The 2K is a great knife. At the price, buy 5-10 and decide which one you like best. ;)
