After looking at the edge on my Sebi, I have come to the realisation that a standard grind is not enough for me. My Spyderco Moran has lost about 30% of its performance with a 'normal' edge.
I want to use a convex edge, however I own the following.
Sharpmaker 203 and 204. Spyderco Ultra Fine Benchstone. Fine and Med Profile, Jewlers ceramic fine set. DMT Duo stone Fine and course. Old Gatco clamp setup. DMT Fine and Ultra Fine pocket stones. Steel
Is it possible using any of the above to sharpen any knife with a convex grind?
The only thing I could think of, was free hand using the benchstone and altering the angle slightly in a strop motion. I was hoping this would give me the continuos curve and razor edge.
Anyone help me? I cannot afford a slack belt sander (whatever that is!). I was told to place very fine wet and dry sandpaper on a thick rubber base and strop with pressure on that. Help!
