Moran Drop Point Sheath and Tek-Lok, Not Matching...

So,

I just bought a Moran Drop Point, I even bought it new, which is against my religion:), but I wanted it so much, that I ponied up.

And I love it. Really love it.

It is wonderfully light, very comfortable, and fits in well with the other gear.

But, there is one small problem.

The illustration that shows how to do the different Tek-Lok arrangements shows that I should be able to carry the knife cross-draw, and I went to set that up, but it does not seem to work. And ignoring the illustration, and trying to match it up for crossdraw anyway, no luck.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

The TekLok can be attached to either side of the sheath in any of the four cardinal positions (up, down, left, right). Just remove the two screws and move the matching screw-posts and rubber washers to where you want them.

You won't be able to do an angled cross-draw position with it, but you should be able to rig it for a straight horizontal right-facing carry easily enough. That should give you a comfortable cross-draw, even if it isn't quite the classic position.

I actually prefer horizontal carry for cross-draws myself. It seems both faster and less cumbersome to carry.

If my explanation didn't help let me know. I can probably rig mine and take some pictures.

I had the same problem with mine. Sal explained that there were two sizes of the tek-lok and the small did not line up for the crossdraw position as illustrated in the instructions. He said I could send it in and they would send back the correct one.

I ended up buying another Tek-Lok sheath for my older mirror finished Moran and looked at the holes for the crossdraw on that one. I found I only had to drill one hole in the edge to make the original sheath/tek-lock work. It was simple and is secure and works just as well as the second one I bought.

Just use one existing hole as in the instructions and swing the lok to the crossdraw position until the second diagonal hole lines up with the edge, not interfering with the knife in the sheath. I can't tell the difference in the way they look/function.

Hope this helps
