no, not moron... moran(and I ain't french)...

I'm looking at buying the FB02, but I have one concern/question.

I was using a cheap tanto beater($20, 4"), but it almost hangs under the belt it rolls on the belt loops build into the sheath. I'm currently back to my CRKT BearClaw that I mirror finished to remove the rust trap.

How does the clip(system)/sheath ride on the belt? I know I can't get as tight a ride as my CRKT, but I don't want it to just hang there. I'm quiet possibly placing my order next week(have $60 set aside, need just over $100 plus taxes(damn gov't))... it all depends on the ride.

If anything I can live with a slightly loose ride till I toss together another 40 or so, and ship it off to Normark and have him rig something up, possibly like the BearClaw then...

Your help is appreciated. I have only handled one a LONG time ago(3yrs, 15 Spyderco knives purchased since, never again with the moran, now I want one)...

Thank you.

Both Morans ride well on the belt. There are several options available with the sheath. I set it up so the belt passes through the sheath about 1/3 of the way down. There is no way it will roll under your belt. Great knife and good carry system.

Hey VW...

If you are talking about the kydex sheath supplied with a Tek Lok, then you are going to get a little bit of sloppiness in the Tek (large Tek) itself..It also depends on the type of belt you are wearing.

I wear a Wilderness Instructors belt,,and it is quite a bit thicker than my other leather belt,,so the fit is a bit better..

All in all the Tek Loks are nice.. Good for some things,, not so good for others...

Hope that nonscense helped..:)

BTW Thanks for the mention...:)

I wear the standard black belt provided with the Air Cadet uniform... picked a few extras up while I was working this summer(have 3 now)...

just under 1.5", black nylon(not a lot of flex up and down)...

Normark> I'd rather support my fellow Canadians, than ship it off to River City or Skunkworks... though both are good...

Hey VW...

With that type of belt,, you are going to have a little sloppines no matter what kind of clip you have...

It all despends on how you plan on wearing the knife..The right belt will make any sheath feel that much better...

I wear either a Very thick leather belt,, or my Wildreness Instructors belt.. Both work well, just depends on the attire I'm wearing..

I also have a Blackhawk Riggers belt,, Great belt,, bul 13/4 " wide,,so that would mean I'd have to change the clips on all my knives..
No problem for a sheathmaker,, but I'm just too darn lazy..Easier to buy a entire new belt. Hense the wilderness belt..

Drop me a note..
