Every once in a while i make one of these miniatures.
This one is 1 7/16" o.a. with 10k gold fittings and a stabilized box elder burl handle.
And it is fully heat treated .
Enjoy Bob

These little knives come in very handy to dress out these little bucks:p

Something this size is heat treated with a BIC butane lighter, right? ;)

And it's quenched in a shot glass... because it would get lost in anything larger.

I really like these miniatures. I may try my hand at one some day.

Actualy i used the kitchen propane range and a small bowl of canola oil. I have houghton quench k but i didn't figure i needed it for this one.

What gets me about these miniature knives is not the blades, its the micro fittings and attention to detail in the finish. Just look at them makes my eyes hurt from the thought of what it takes to do them this nice:eek:

Wow ,now theres one Moran I can probably afford. Nice job Bob. Just one thing though, I thought that bucks down your neck of the woods were a tad larger. Guess I won't bring the .300 Weatherby with me.
