Moras. Are they considered a traditional knife? I don't know, never asked myself, how far they go back. Maybe someone can enlighten me? Thank you, Dylan.

The clippers and such are a nice cross between traditional and modern. The wood handle models are, indeed, very much traditional knives. There is a lot of current production Scandinavian knives that retain traditional lines- and many more that cross tradition and modernity. And, they are all (pretty much) a great value- talk about awsome quality for a budget price.

I think they may be considered traditional. About 3 years ago, the Smithsonian Museum here in Washington D.C. had an exibit visit from the Viking museum in Oslo Norway. They had alot of Norse stuff, beautifull objects decorated with runic carvings and such. Among the artifacts from a Viking burrial site were some weapons and tools, including knives. All the knives were of the standard puuko design. My old wood handle Frosts mora with the laminated blade was a pretty good double for a few of the puuko type knives I saw there.

I do doubt though, the Vikings had plastic sheaths.:D

Mora knives have a history going back a few hundred years and represent traditional Scandinavian knives. Though these knives are made in Sweden, similar knives with rich history are equally available from Norway, Finland and Lapland (which culturally has its own identity).

The knives range from simple, basic belt knives up to intricately carved and beautifully appointed knives and sheathes.

I've long been a fan of Mora and other Scandinavian knives.

If you compare the blades of a traditional puukko or Scandinavian ground blade and the (historical) traditional Japanese tanto (not the knives touted as tantos amongst the mall ninja set) you'll see how much these two great knife loving cultures had in common. Knife tradition of the highest order.

on my short list of knives to buy:D
Ive heard nothing but good about them and for the price point, almost too good to pass up. I would classify what ive seen of them as traditional, dunno 'bout everybody else
cheers
