OK, so, first off. I dont want to start a thread that compares full tang knives to hidden, or convex to scandi..frankly, its been done to death.
I live in the camp "use what you want" and thats what I believe.
Well, whats with the MORA at the title. well, thats what this is about, Moras and thier different styles and models.
I use one every day, at work. usually I take a 510 or the Hultafors..2 of my favorite ones. The Hultafors is very tough, and has stood up to some serious abuse. The 510 is a proven cutter, with a great handle IMO. Some others that have proved themselves are, The MIKI...very comfortable handle, I dont love the sheath, but it works.
The All Around..great knife, quickly becoming one of my favorites. I love the new texture, and the blade is a performer.
Some from the new line that I havnt used yet are the TriFlex and the Force, but I can already tell, they are really substantial knives for the cost, I love the force, but I havnt used it for any extended time, so its tough to be fair. Although, its handle is the same as the 2010, which is why its safe to say I will like it.
The Finman is one that I came across on the net, and jumped on. Its a new brand for me, the blade is ground in the traditional manner, and the handle is well shaped. Overall, its a good deal for the $10 plus shipping I paid. Its carbon, and holds an edge. I used it at work for one week, and it did well. I am not so crazy about a small gap at the handle and blade, although the blade isnt loose, I think that water could get in and cause decay or rust. Its a cool knife to try out though.
I have been really getting into them over the last year or so, and have a few.

Mora FORCE, basically a 2010 without the fancy grind!! very tough bushcraft knife.

I have a clipper, scout and triflex. I need more though. I'd like to get a wood handled one and a mora 2000 soon as well. Nice collection.

Love the moras...used them as my got for a few years... Lately my tastes have changed, and I found acombo I've stuck with for a while... but moras will always have a place in my heart...Hard to find a better blade for carving asn small game work... my favs are the carbon clipper, and the 2000

woa woa woa... step back.. rewind... theres a green handle 510!!!!?????!!!!!!?

details pls I must score a few of these!

I like the 2Ka bit more than the 2010. I dont know why, basically the same knife..maybe its just the 2 , 2000's I have came with nice kydex sheaths custom made. I really like the looks of the FORCE, it should be a good one, I like the tip being thick like it is for drilling, something I couldnt bring myself to do with the 2K or 2010.

I think the 2k has a more versatile handle that lends itself to various grips.... the ergs on the new ones are great for a hamer grip..but not so stellar in my opinion for other ones.

There is available today a green stainless model that looks like the 511. Its number escapes me right now, but, you could snip of the finger guard and give it a quick sanding.
The green handled knife in my post is a KJ Erikson, no longer made. I modified the handle in the same way I explained above. I believe its called the Kayak model.

I think I agree with that.
I think this is why I love the 510 so much, its versatility. Its carbon, holds an edge, and is just small enough for detailed carving, but big enough for butchering tasks.
The MIKI is a pretty comfortable knife, I like it, as is the All Around.
I just got the AA a week ago, and its fast becoming a fave!
I still love my other scandis, but the Moras just go into the pocket easily as I leave the house...they are easy to replace, and work so well at cutting wood, something I do all day, that I cant live without them.
I have carved a bunch of copes on crown molding with just a mora 510, no need for the coping saw...takes a few minutes, and makes my day a bit funner! Just dont tell my boss, I am enjoying myself at work OK;)

IMO the Mora is a 75.00 knife that you can buy for around 20, not many deals like that around. I would trust the Mora just as far as any other knife around. I have some pretty old ones that have seen many years of rough duty. I have never had to retire one.

I absolutely love the 840, and my 223 is a dandy blade although not my idea of an ideal beater. I'll be getting more in the future, the orange handled serrated and probably the High Carbon Craftline. The sheaths aren't ideal but I'll start making my own soon enough, so I'm not too concerned about them.

GKK,

The one in the last pic with the like silver and black handle, red dot on the pommel? Is that the miki (on your label?) I really like that one.

I have a couple of green 510's. They where marketed by Normark, and called on the packaging , "Hunting Knife." I use them as gardening and backup knives , and for the kids to use. They are tough little units, but with all the steel I have, I'm always using more heavy-duty knives. ( FK's,Esee's,Beckers, etc.)
Nice collection you have , though.

I sure wish I had a 510. Why they stopped making that one I have no idea. I like your quote...
"I live in the camp "use what you want" and thats what I believe."

I have a both the carbon and stainless model that is like the thicker 510 with the finger guard (511? maybe... can't remember), a stainless finman/ahti/lauri, and a couple of hultafors.

I use the finman the most in the field (usually on a river or stream somewhere). I filled the gap with epoxy, and it's good to go. We've used the thicker stainless 511? as a scale breaker knife for carp. It works pretty well and lets the fillet knives stay sharp longer. I use the hultafors GK around the house, mostly cutting various building materials and taking out the mulberries that are trying to eat my fence.

My favorite is the finman. It and the hultafors feel the best in my hand.

I like that Martini 571 (I think that's the number). Something about it looks right to me, but I was scared away by the relatively short tang.

THats the MIKI, I like it and the AA above it, both great knives.

No, only the 511.

I personally think it was a stupid move.....I have the martinni 571, but I don't like it as much as mora's.

YEAH right? I like the blade of the Martini, but the cheap plastic handle is REALLY CHEAP and PLASTIC. I much prefer the Mora's as well.

I was going to fill the gap on the Finman with epoxy to, good call! The Hultafors is a stout knife, I trust it as much as any knife I own, I have realy beat the heck outta it, and done some nice detail work with it.
