it in deer horn with silver furniture. Thought it might be fun to post for

And a great morning to you, Berk. I woke up with an attitude like a rottweiler with a toothache and hemorhoids. Nice to have your company in that. LOL

Seriously, I would love to have a 12" Sirupati with black horn and CBKC style handle. With the earlier, straighter ( smaller degree angled ) elbow. The later Sirupatis seem to have a sharper bend than the pre-Birgorkha ones.

Let's let Bill get caught up with the business, have a week or so after that to get rested up, then we can blindside him with requests for this style handle being optional on most if not all khuks.

John Moses designed it, I trust it, and that settles it.

... I would love to have a 12" Sirupati with black horn and CBKC style handle ...
Alhamdu-li-(A)llaah! I have both models ie. 12" Silver Mounted Spotted Deer Horn Handled Dhankuta and 9" Spotted Deer Horn Handled CBKC. No doubt ... their handles are beautiful ... BUT ... I guess the bone handle of HI Flagship Logo Khukuri @ BirGorkha Kothimoda is better & more beautiful!

WHY?
  1. I guess Spotted Deer Horn are affected by Himalayan Epoxy which turn their natural white colour into blackish spott!
  2. Certain part of Spotted Deer Horn are not smooth enough - it is quite rough - I think that are the porous part of the horn!
  3. The butt end part of the handle of those two models are too pointy compared to the one of the BirGorkha Kothimoda bone handle (which I think a bit round shape).
  4. The part which hold the end part of the tang is ... a bit funny looking shaped chunk of brass or silver ... I think the standard diamond or oval shape are still the better shape.[/list=a]Anybody who has BirGorkha Kothimoda? Please give comments to my impression on it's handle! Remember ... I might be wrong in many cases!

    NEPAL HO!

Jim,
The blades are not blued but the usual beautiful bright polished versions.

Sometimes when I put a knife directly on the scanner like this, the light doesn't reflect the brightness. Sorry about that.
