710 & 2 710-1s--the left one is d2 & the 2 others are m390
the 2 knives with the rockwell indentations next to trademark were used in sisal cutting tests by knarfeng [frank an engineer formite].the far right 710-1 in m390 bears the signature mirror bevels of ankerson. franks sisal tests gave very similar results to jim ankersons sisal tests with m390. both testers, one in calif. & one in n. carolina certainly established the superior performance of b.m.s 390 alloy over zdp. as mentioned by one of the formites zdp at 67 rockwell may have equalled the cutting performance of the m390 but that high zdp rockwell is not found in factory knives. i feel that 390 at highest usable rockwell would still out perform zdp.
dennis---lets not fight that is only my opinion.

bp that is rust ,i believe that knife was bms introduction of the axis lock 10 or 12 years back. i do'nt worry about patinas or surface rust on my using knives. now on my gec collection that would be inexcusable.

Nice looking knives Dennis.

You know I love my traditionals, but the Benchmade 710 is one of my all time favorite knives.

Dennis, that's a nice collection you have there. That is also a heck of an edge they're sporting too. . .
