More Benchmade Praise: Service Dept

Once again, I have been truly amazed at the good nature of the service department in a US knife production company. This time Benchmade.

I mailed them a couple of weeks ago regarding where I could go to get (purchase) some replacement thumbstuds for my BM Mini Griptilian.

The service department mailed me back and asked me for my address so that they could send me some. A few weeks later, I arrive home to find a little package from Benchmade with a complete thumstud fastener contained therein. :D Wonderful. No charge either. Brilliant! What makes this even more special is the fact that I live thousands of miles away.

I am so impressed by this kind of service level. Every time I get it I'm completely blown away. I mean a couple of thumbstuds - no big deal right! Wrong. It's this type of attention to the little things that mean so much. To me at least.

All I can really say is "Thank you Benchmade. You made my day."

I had a similar experience with CRKT. The pocket clip on my M16 was bent when it got caught on the arm of a chair and I bent it back but it got caught again and bent more. I contacted them for a replacement and told them how it happened and they not only sent me a replacement clip and screws, they also sent me another clip with a modified lip so it no longer gets caught on things. I was pretty impressed that they took the time to make me a special clip.
 
I had a similar experience with BM. I had a "little accident" on the freeway that ended up with me and my bike sliding on our sides on the asphalt. I scratched the pocket clip on my 710 badly. I contacted BM and asked them if I could buy a replacement pocket clip. I explained to them that I bought the knife on Ebay and that it probably wasn't under warranty and even if it was, I wouldn't expect them to cover this type of damage. They wrote back saying they're glad I'm OK, got my address and about one week later a replacement clip and screws arrived in the mail all at no charge. Great customer service!
 
I too have high praise for the BENCHMADE staff. 2 weeks ago i was returning home from vacation and decided to stop in at benchmade. the staff was extremely courteous, polite and very welcoming. while there i asked to have the clip up-graded on my 705. also one up-graded for my new in the box 943. without hesitation or question they replaced the one on my 705 which i had on me and handed me a new one for my 943. ( great knives,service,staff,company).
