Uhh.. ok..

It could be a problem of supply. Or, maybe those steels aren't ideal for mass production. Perhaps in the future, they will be.

I doubt S90V and CPM15V are being intentionally ignored. Once it makes economic sense to switch to them, we'll see knives in those steels.

I believe ATS34 and 154CM are the same formula, just American (154CM) and Japaneses (ATS 34) variants. I don't believe there's a discernable difference between the two. I could be wrong though - I'm no expert on steel production.

ATS 34/154CM is commonly used because it's a decent steel, with good properties, and I believe it's in pretty common supply. I don't think there's anything particularily wrong with it.

Just out of curiousity, what does this have to do with Buck knives? They seem to have lots of "origality or belly" - with many new materials and lots of innovation.

Yeah, I think that it is hard to make those steels and to work them too.

Now I know they are the same steels, thanks, I keep making such mistakes.

I do nut have anything against "Buck". However custom makers are not that custom of they do not offer these steels, major drawback. I do however understand that you cannot feature all kinds of raw material.

I'm sure I will find a nice piece.

Kind regards!
