I'll probably be trolled into the ground for asking, but what's the real difference between a Ganga Ram Special and a Bonecutter? So far the only noticeable difference I see is the Bonecutter's chiruwa handle. What am I missing?

QUIT TROLLING

(Kidding)

Well it seems there's sort of a blurring now.

Based on the Ganga Ram and the original bonecutters that GK made the Ganga Ram has a more curved cutting surface and blade. The Bonecutter has the curve more back to the cho and the cutting surface and blade are longer and flatter.

Also the Original Bonecutters had less distal taper so they would be heavier than a ganga Ram. Also the original Bonecutters have a longer bevel so thinner edge and thinner handle with wider bell at the pommel.

However they have sort of morphed where the latest bonecutters are sort of taking on an sharper angled blade like an ak rather than the smooth arc.

I'll try to pull out some of the originals and do a comparison.

Nice pictures, thank you hollowdweller

How Sgt. Khadka makes a curved spine but then creates a long section of flat parallel blade stuns and amazes me!

Woe to me, having small hands except for thiner handles that Sgt. K makes! :D

But on my Murali 12inch Bonecutter he has followed the Sgt.'s practice of narrowing in the grip like this / \ from just ahead of the first rivet up through the bolster. Does your longer BC have the same narrowing?

So it seems from yesterday's example. Nothing wrong except the ascetics to my eye at least? :o

I would be indebted if you could take a photo of the grips from an overhead position for reference please HD?

Molin,

Will probably be this weekend. I'm totally with you on the thinner handle.

If I grip a khuk tightly it transfers too much force to my hand on impact.

I like the handle to be thinner like Sgt K's and then I sort of grip it more loosely with my front fingers and more tightly with the back so there is a slight snap on impact. The wide pommel keeps it from slipping out of your hand.
