This blade is a destroyer. If it doesn't cut it's target it breaks it in half.

Sanding the handle a bit brought out some awesome grain and color.

Rad. Is that an 18"?

I think when I can get around to obtaining one myself, that I'll opt for the 16" for something more portable than my 19" Samsher.

Great pictures, thank you

It's the 22".

I'd like to try the 18", and the 16", and whatever else they can come up with. :D

Bruche,

I want to thin my handle some but I'm afraid of grinding the heads off the rivets.

As I recall you've removed some Chirwas before? How deep can I go without effing it up?

I dunno about the Khadka blades but all the others have just been regular pins. From what it looks like the sarge just uses a larger diameter pin.

They seem to be really soft, possibly aluminum. It takes to good cracks with a chisel to break them off.

Maybe someone has rehandled a Sgt. k and knows. My bet would be they are not rivets.

Ahhhh, makes sense. I thought it was just the angle most of the pics were taken from that made the blade appear longer, but I guess it really IS.

Mmmmmonnnn-sterrrrr!!!!

So what you are saying is I can probably grind them w/o worrying about grinding the head off cause ther is no head?

i like that khuk, big, no nonsense sort of look to it, but still very well visually balanced (and from what i read, its well balanced in the hand too?)

I would say it's balanced for it's intended purpose which is chopping. It is very blade heavy. The balance point is near the start of the bend and the end of the Sword of Shiva. So it's about 5 to 5 1/2 inches in front of the bolster. This allows the weight and mass of the blade to do most of the work for you. It's not like my Balance model by Sher which balances right on the cho.

i love how wide that primary bevel is....even with frequent sharpenings, it should last you 200-300 years!!!

beautiful blade...

Very cool eye candy. Do you have any pictures before you sanded the handle?

just my luck :) il bruche's package finally showed up, despite my orders to delay it ;)

unfortunately a rainy weekend is in store. 10 hour days don't make for good chopping during the week. i NEED to get out there and chop stuff! plus i want a lot of high rez pictures for the files and Aunti Yangdu.

gunna have to get me an 18 and a 12 and a 20/22 and ... :)

nice pictures there

Just the ones Yangdu took. They seem to put something on the handles that I don't like. Removing it always reveals the grain and figure of the wood.

Let me know how you like the 18"

Just decimated three trees that needed to go.

Removing the limbs on these was too easy. 2" diameter limbs came off in 2 or three swipes with the first almost going all the way through. Smaller branches of less than 1" diameter were coming off two or three at a time.
